We will introduce the machine learning topic of recommendation systems, one of the oldest in the field, and perhaps the one most applied in the real world. Some theory will be discussed but most of the time will be spent with two examples. The examples will use two state-of-the-art hybrid recommender models: factorisation machines and deep recommender nets. The talk will be fairly technical and require some background in machine learning.

We begin at 18:00 with food and mingle. The talk starts around 18:30 and will be around 1 hour. After the talk, you are welcome to stay and mingle.
