We present how AI can be used to improve the performance and monitoring of wireless backhaul networks, a topic explored by Ericsson Research in Gothenburg for more than four years now. Our Advanced Microwave Insights tool for detection and classification of microwave link disturbances is introduced, and we also present our recent efforts to improve networks energy efficiency.
Martin Sjödin has been at Ericsson Research in Gothenburg since 2014 and is currently a senior researcher in the Antenna and Microwave Hardware group. His research has focused on various aspects of microwave point-to-point links including digital signal processing algorithms, development and performance evaluation of different link topologies and more recently how machine learning can be utilized to improve the performance and monitoring of microwave networks.
